Long weekend. Raining. So why did it take me and JCJ so long to decide that going for a dive was a good idea? I mean, as if we had anything else to do and we were going to get wet anyway. Sal brought Rumpole and had a walk and a coffee as JCJ and I headed tank-free into the water at Fairy Bower.
The water was flatish and coolish and we found no sharks and the big schools of fish we'd got used to seeing were not there. It was a particularly OK dip. We meandered over towards the point where it was a was bit lumy and a couple of sea kayaks were coming down the wava faces. Because we're a bit stupid we don't carry a float we decided that playing in the small surf was not such a great iea and headed back for the exit. On the way back, as we had on the way over, we dropped on some divers who remained completely oblivious our presence. Eventually I swam right in front of a guy and waved at him...it is amazing just how close you can get to a diver without them noticing (that's the way the sharks do it...)
Anyway, we headed over to the rocks and found relatively few fish. In fact the highlights were few, a decent sied ray over the sand and a small squadron of squid as soon as I go in.
Ironically enough we decided to get out of the water when the rain started to get get quite hard...
